This is the last post on this blog... I really thank you all for reading, as I feel the information that was presented here was wonderful for the growth of all. This weeks topic was spiritual path. I want to close with a final entry on this topic. When we choose to work in spirit, it is an amazing thing. We feel so much a part of greater whole than we will ever full realize when doing it on our own.. but we never really are on our own. We have so many people that come into our lives for whatever reason, and we move forward. There is always a life worth living, and every path is a path in spirit. There are those of us who have dedicated our lives to the forward progress of spreading the message through not only our words and actions, but through how we choose to live our lives. It really is an amazing thing to see growth, love, and brightness enter the sometimes dark parts of this world.. and even in the souls of others. We must not live in fear, as fear only consumes the good and spreads like a wildfire.. the sad thing is that we are usually the ones holding the match.
I again want to thank you for reading the psychic duo blog.. but a duo blog cannot be written by one...

I will continue to post there, and continue to share in your spiritual growth. I really appreciate having you along on this journey...
The light in me acknowledges and reflects the light in you.. May you all go forward in peace, may peace follow you.. and touch all that you encounter...

Finding Faith and Spirituality under the Rainbow....
One of the hardest things I’ve found with the coming out process is the quickness with which most churches will turn on those members of their congregation. Its almost as if your decision to love has in some way morphed you into one of the monsters from Pokemon (which I personally find adorably cute beyond belief) and not the person you have been from the beginning. Even if you do not follow a particular religion, most of you have felt the sting of scriptures tossed at you in justification of your identification with who you really are. Now here is the tricky part, we often associate our “churches” condemnation with “God’s” condemnation. This is extremely evident in the “ex-gay” movement which tries to “fix” the gay out of you. You can’t fix what is not broken, and let me tell you- We are not broken. You can’t “fix” the God out of someone, and we should not go seeking places to fix us. I am not saying that all religions are bad, or that all christians hate us for being ourselves, and keep this in mind. I know a beautiful soul that is about as close to God as anyone I know. She is a Christian, and truly supports equality on all levels. Separation, anger, and hate will only keep us away from finding the God within each and every one of us. You do not have to believe in God to believe in yourself or in the power of change. This angry God that has been created in the image of hate and ignorance has cause so many young souls to cut their lives short simply because they have learned to fear him more than live the God they see in the mirror- and God doesn’t make mistakes. I can remember sitting with a pill bottle in one hand, and a knife in the other trying to decide which would be less painful, and all because I feared that God would hate me for choosing this path of damnation, the path of loving another man. I told myself I would sleep on it. As I sat there the next day I asked for some sort of sign, a message, a star falling from the sky–something. Then it hit me- Love really is the answer. I looked around me; The beauty in the sunrise, I thought back the the guy that was in my life, I remembered my mother holding me close before I left for the Navy, and it was all a feeling of love. And if this being we call God is love in its purest form, then this was God in every aspect of my life. The feeling I had felt the night before were so opposite this, and well– I guess my decision is obvious. I am not saying the road is going to be easy, and the search for our truth usually is not. There are so many roads to walk down, there are so many dreams that we still have to dream, and who know who has it right. Just keep walking, just keep loving, keep being you–and make no apologies. I’d much rather let the mountains be my steeples, the birds my choir, and the grass my pew– feeling the warmth of acceptance from the suns shining grace , and tucked into slumber by mother moon, surrounding myself with angels I meet that are just like me–and you.

Intuition: A meditation
This topic is one of those that we could spend forever on, really moving into that place of connection... and I am sure Darrin and I will revisit it from time to time, because much like 2012 it is one of those topics that does not get enough attention. We really need to learn to move into these wonderful new moments full of grace and light.. and, the best way to do that is to shine our light from within, that way you will never be without.
Lets do a little meditation to help you connect to your intuitive voice. Just like the soul meditation, this only requires you to let go, relax and move into the meditation. If you want to do a ritual to move yourself into that space, by all means.
Sit and breath.. focusing on your breath.. feel the body relaxing into each breath.. drifting and slightly detaching from the world around you... continue to breath and control the breath.. allow the body to relax even more, and now begin focusing on a question you might have. I want you to now ask your soul for advice on this particular issue, ask your soul voice (intuition)for guidance on anything you want. Learn to trust the information that is given. Learn to listen. You might not "hear" anything, but you just KNOW what needs to be done... you may see images that flash into your mind's eye... you might hear a gentle voice whisper guidance into your ear... thank your intuition, your soul, and any other higher being that you wish to thank.. close with a few deep breaths.. relax.. write down your experience.
See, that was not that hard. I will try and post some guided meditations on this blog here in the near future....
Much love and light to you all,
Namaste,

Intuition aka that lil voice that tries to keep you out of troble
We all have this wonderful internal guidance system. The problem is that many of us don't often like the advice it gives us, so we end up moving in a very opposite direction, and usually.. we look back and say.. Agh, had I only done what I knew I should have done from the start...
One big step you can take is learning to connect to your intuitive voice. Learn to relax, to sit in meditation, and to go with your gut feelings about circumstances- people- or other things in your life. Our intuition (or soul voice), only has the highest love and intent for us. It will help guide us to where we need to go, and it will move us into each moment with grace if we allow it. Sometimes the road ahead is bumpy, but if we learn to trust ourselves we will be fine.
Trust... A very powerful tool in connecting to intuition. Learn to trust yourself. Love yourself. The more your do this, the more you will develop a deeper connection to your intuitive voice.
Some things I will cover later in the week:
Soul voice vs. ego voice
How to develop a deeper connection to your intuition (meditation)
Learning to TRUST
Have a beautiful start to your week!

Beautiful Rainbow- Poem

I performed this poem today at the GLBT LIVE rally to repeal the Dont Ask, Dont Tell policy.. Enjoy:
I want all the colors of the rainbow to join hands with all the letters of the alphabet,
so that we can have our voices heard in numbers that are too loud to ignore...
we need to be loud..
so loud that we create waves..
waves that will turn into tsunamis of love, that will come crashing down on the walls of hate..
we need to rip the pink triangle off the holocaust victims' chest...
because we are victims no more.
We are brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers.. creators...
and in our image we will create a world where there is a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow...
My grandmother use to tell me that rainbows were God's way of showing us the beauty in all life...
I want our rainbow to be so bright that it becomes a beacon of hope for every boy and girl trapped in their dark closets..
I want to give them the courage to speak, and to give their voice the strength of a million people marching to the beat of our outstretched hearts..
hearts, beating as one..
creating music that would make Beethoven dance...
creating a rhythm that can be heard from here to Iran..
Iran where angels are still murdered for choosing to love...
Let our music be their wings, let our voices lift them up through the clouds of ignorance..
How many hearts have to stop beating for us to start believing that our time is now...
we are here America, we are queer America...
we are every.. beautiful.. rainbow.

2012: My thoughts
Everyone really has their own opinion on what is going to happen during this time of great transition. We are all moving more into a place of centeredness. As a yoga instructor, I've seem people coming in droves to learn a new way of helping to body to relax and connect into a place of spirituality. Yoga in and of itself is a great series of stretches, but on a deeper level it allows us to shift the bodies energy systems, open chakras, and to connect with ourselves on a very deep level. We also learn to let go. Letting go of fear, anger, and any other negative emotion will be something extremely positive in the forward momentum.
Let us look at it from this perspective-- The worst possible outcome. The entire world goes... Ka BOOOOOOM!!!!!
What things have you left unsaid? Who do you still need to forgive? And from who do you still seek forgiveness? What things do you still want to accomplish in this life? What do you want your legacy to be?
We need to move to a place where we live without regret. Say those things now.. do those things now... Try out for a play, sing on a stage, dance! At our final moments is not the time to say.. Sheesh, I really wish I woulda... Its the time to say.. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to....
Do not live each moment like it is your last, live it like it is your first... forgive, not only other but the self. Share in this world experience, be happy, and spread your wings... Why wait?!?!

2012: Moving into a place of non-fear and oneness
Thanks Darrin for taking the lead on the 2012 week. We really could go on and on about this topic. Many of you will also begin to notice Hollywood is also on the bandwagon. There are shows on the Discover Channel regarding how to survive if all die but you, movies, and a ton of books being released and re-released on the topic.
The one thing I want to caution on is this. Do not fear the transition. Ever watch one of those really crazy horror shows. Its the kids that are in the most fear that run into the closet that has no exit to hide from the bad guy that ALWAYS finds them in the closet. The hero is usually a little afraid, but has overcome their fear enough to find the bad guys weakness. You get the picture.
Read, learn, watch, and ask questions. The more prepared you are for the coming shift the less fear you will carry with you. The more you learn the more prepared you are. The more you connect to your own intuitive voice the more prepared you will become. This is a time where connection to others is critical. We are already witnessing that it is not the storms, the sea, or the sky that will kill us... its US. We are so separate and detached from each other that it becomes a lonely world. When you realize you are connected to everyone, in everyway.. so much more opens up for us. It is about helping one another, learning to let go, and learning to carry peace with us everywhere, and in every moment.
Please ask any question you might have regarding 2012... and Darrin and I will try to address as many as we can in this weeks blog series... I am sure we will do several more of these weeks as the time for the shift approaches.

Flower from my blog-- http://deviantpsychic.blogspot.com
I remember planting my first rose bush in my back yard... it never bloomed until I left for bootcamp... much like my soul the little flower would grow, it would wilt, and it would die... but, it would grow again... My mother would send me pictures of the flower in bloom, and I would send her pictures of me.. blooming in my own garden... I look back and I see all the weeds that I planted in my little garden, but have always been thankful my soul gave me some really sharp thorns to keep me safe... we die a thousand times from birth to death, but many of us never really learn to blossom. We never learn to feel the sun against the petals of our cheeks, we never take the time to stretch our little limbs up to enjoy each moment, each rainstorm, each... moment. Then the moment is gone, it wilts away, we die, and we grow again. In life, I guess we never take the time to really enjoy each moment. We only look to the end, and never taste the love that is right in front of us. Remember, pluck yoursleves from the bush of your life, and place yourself as the center of the table and say--You are beautiful... enjoy this life, each moment, each breath, each rainstorm, and wrap yourself in those memories. Let the soul blossom...

Soul Meditation
Like a flower, the soul needs its water. Today we are going to sprinkle some water on her for you.
This is a very easy, and non complicated meditation. You can use what I write here, or you can very simply... make up your own. I am going to post over the weekend a video with a guided meditation.
Take a deep breath.. exhale...
"I know ask my soul to step into my physical body." "I know ask that my soul move me into a place of centeredness, and interconnection with self, and all that is" " I know ask that my soul breath, play, live, and love"
See a brilliant white light surrounding you... feel its warmth... sit... and relaxxxx
Meditation is not something that needs to be complicated. Its very simple. We shall be doing more.
Much love

Working with the soul
I've had the opportunity to work in not only helping people move onto their path, but in helping them get in contact with that old friend- The Soul.
I am working on a new technique that is called Soul Interaction Therapy (SIT). What happens in one of these sessions is very simple. I allow our souls to have a conversation, then we move towards opening your body's energy system. We do a focused meditation where we ask the soul to step into the conscious form, creating a connection to your physical self. Once this happens of course, there is work that has to be done, and I am a firm believer in homework.
Affirmations, fitness, nutrition and rest are a big part of what I will give you as a plan of action that will move you not only into a deeper inward connection, but will allow you a chance to create a better relationship to your intuitive voice.
I will detail the process more in a video towards the end of the week regarding soul work, and we will do a mini meditation together to move us into this sacred place of deep inward connection.
Much love to you all...
Namaste,
Mike

The Soul
What a great topic, and thank you Darrin for starting off the weeks discussion with such a powerful beginning.
What is the soul? Do we all have one? And where can I get one, just in case?
Well, they do not sell them at walmart, and we all have one, and it is that piece of us that loves, that sees the sunrise in every sunset, that sees the flower blooming as you are planting the seed, that sees the love in every lover past, present and future and still has a little love left over for those eyes looking back at you from the mirror.
The soul is that one gift that brings us so close to the divine that we realize we are the divine. If we are created in the image of the great one in the sky, then we are all great. The soul reminds us how to live. Sometimes we get so caught up in our worlds that we forget to sit and just listen to the signing of birds, because even the caged bird sings. We have to learn to tear down the cages we've trapped ourselves in and start living, flying, and becoming one.
There are many theories as to where the soul is, where it comes from and where it goes when we die. Sometimes we spend so much time worrying and we forget to live. We do everything we are told, we give money to the church, we give an occasional dollar to the homeless, and we pray... but we forget to live. We forget what it is like to make forts in our backyards, we forget the taste of play dough spaghetti, we forget that every box is a race car and plane... we forget how to play, to live, and to connect to our soul. We don't need something outside of us to believe in ourselves.
Through this week I am going to discuss some of my own work in connecting with my own soul, and I will also give you a few meditations to help move you into a place of connection with yours. Take time this week to play. Pick up some silly putty, play dough, or just dance. Don't forget to smile... :-)
Much love and light,

Spiritual Activism: Women-- my mother

I learned so much about women by watching my mother. I can remember being in a home, where at the age of 10 I was the man of the house. I never knew how strong women where until I learned to watch my mother. She has the strength of a thousand men, and the heart of a gentle dove. We never had it easy growing up, but you learn to appreciate more when you do not have it easy. You learn to look at your mother and see her strength, the strength that only pours out of her heart and into our hands so that we may feast on her struggle.. clearing a path of light for us. Selling her mother's jewelry so that we can have light, making pillows to sell at the flea market so that we can have vacations... I never knew the strength of women until I learned to watch my mother. We take for granted so much in this life. As children we grow, we run, we play, we just know that we are here as part of a bigger plan... Thank you to all the women, mothers, sisters, nieces, teachers... Thank you for the life you have given.. and continue to give We never take the time to say thank you to the one's that in their struggle, mended the pillows that would carry our dreams to the waking world. So, thank you.

Spiritual Activism: Religion- Touching the face of God
God. Goddess. Higher Power. Great One in the sky. There are so many names, so many images, and so many directions and paths to take. I do not think that there is really any one "path" that does not intersect another. The problem that I see is the corruption that is present in what we now call "religion". I can not and will never understand a Shepard that lives beyond the means of those in his flock. When there are people giving money to an infinite truth, giving their last dollar, giving away their last supper... so that a man can wrap himself in a fancy Jesus, because that his what he says God wants. Not my God... the God that I see each and every day in the eyes of those that move into each moment, on their own paths, beating their own drums, and creating waves of light in their path. The God I know loves all, and expects nothing in return. The God I know sees the beauty in the darkest parts of our world, and still smiles. The God I know sees the beauty in my sometimes fucked up life, and still says "I love you". The God I know would not cause a young gay man to want to die simply for choosing to love. The God I know scoops his hand deep into my heart each and everyday and reminds me that I am God. I am him, I am her, I am it, and I am you. My God reminds me each and everyday that I am the creator and in his image I am created and in my image I create.. and if I am to create I should plant the seeds of love, and water them with hope... and when that hope reaches the seeds it will blossom into peace and in that peace I will see the face of God.. and when I reach out my hand to touch the face of God I will realize that I am touching my own cheek.. your cheek..... our cheek. We are God... We are love... we are hope... We just are...
Love.

Spiritual Activism: GLBTQ Rights
Well, here we are. We are in a time of great change. We are making progress towards new truths in our time, connecting, sharing, and moving out of a place of fear. As a gay man I can say that I have seen the changes. We have moved through many struggles and there are many up ahead. What I want to focus on in this post in the harm that we create in our own culture. It is the damage that we impose on one another that is the worst. We are slowly moving towards a time where we will have the right to marry, we will have the right to work anywhere without harassment, we will be able to serve this country as the proud men and women we are.
It is the damage we do to one another that still cuts the deepest. We look at each other with such a sense of judgment. So deep is this judgment that we in turn begin to judge ourselves and our own place in this great big world. We have become victims of our own hand. When we wish to create change and acceptance in the world around us, do you not think it is time to accept one another. There are so many lines that have been drawn G/ L/ B/ T/ Q/ rather than coming into to a place of unity... a place where we are more than a random letter in the alphabet. When we stop separating ourselves, we being to be part of the whole. We move in directions that are so outside of creating change that we forget that we are so much more than we realize. We are all children of the same divine creative energy- God, Goddess, Higher Power, Allah, or flying spaghetti monster.
We have polarized ourselves not only from the greater group, but we have also polarized ourselves within our own ranks. Now is the time for change. Now is the time to "BE" part of that change we so much want to see in the world. Accept each other, grow, love, and become one.
There is so much pain in this world, and so much that we here take for granted. In many places in this world, it is illegal to be gay. People are killed as an acceptable form of punishment. We need to be thankful for the opportunities we have in front of us. We need to be grateful that we have the freedoms that we do enjoy. Once we learn to be in a place of appreciation for what we do have, the universe will always bring us more to be thankful of.
This is a great video by poet Andrea Gibson, I think it really captures what I am trying to get across:

Spiritual Activism: Speaking out for animals
A question I get asked a lot is: "So, how does spirituality tie into animal rights work?"
Well, the question I always pose back is, "How does it not?"
We have become so far removed from the other beings on this great big planet, that we feel we are the ones that are in control. An to an extent we are (and what a fine job we are doing, huh?). We have learned that it is okay to do the worst to those that we consider lesser than us, and in turn we who are lesser than others have the same happen to us most often than not. Do we see a trend? The way we treat others is how we will be treated in turn. We cannot destroy life on such a massive scale and just expect everything to be okay. Heart disease, diabetes, stroke, cancer are killing us just as quickly as we are killing these animals. Some call these illnesses the "animals revenge"... but, I doubt these beings of love would wish us any harm. We are the ones that have created our own crap filled swimming pool.
We must learn that we are all one. The smallest insect to the biggest mountain. We are all connected. Here is an experiment: Go out to the ocean, dip your finger in the water, and close your eyes. In that singular moment, you are touching EVERYTHING. The sand, the beings in the sea, all the lands of the world, the clouds that are formed by the mists of the sea, the wind that blows the sea spray on all... We are all more connected that we realize. It is coming into that place of true realization that we have to understand that we cannot continue to kill others. In this day and age, there are so many wonderful non-animal options that it is silly to say "I CANT".
There are those that say a vegetarian or vegan diet is too difficult, and yet--they have never tried it. The hardest part is getting over your own ego and doing it for the sake of doing it. Some people go vegetarian only for the health reasons, Great! Some people go vegetarian for the animal reasons, Great! Some people do it for all the above, Great! The reason is not the key, the key is that we are helping animals no matter the reason.
And for all the veg people out there in this big world... remember to support those on their journey. Too often we are quick to criticize others before we applaud them. If you have a friend that is shifted from eating chicken to choosing chicken that was humanely raised and slaughtered, applaud their awakening. Each progressive step is one step closer to a better life for all.
Remember, the best way to create peace and love in the world is to be peace and love.
You are loved, adored, and cherished.
Namaste

Spirtual Activism

Where best to begin than with a topic like this. Now, spiritual activism does not mean that I expect you to go make some signs and start marching up and down the street yelling Buddhist chants (but if you do, send me pictures.) What this really means is living a life that is good... well, what is good?
Ask yourself this, "How do I want to see this world? What do I want more of in my life?" If you want world peace, should you not start by bringing more peace into your life? If you want more love for the world or a higher quality of love from others, should you not start by loving yourself?
We so often look to the outside for change, but we have not yet fixed that "thing" within ourselves. It really is not about fixing it, but more so about accepting it. It is always there, we just chose not walk a path of greater resistance. We feel that there always has to be a fight. That activism and change has to be about struggle and fight. It does not. I've helped open more people to the idea of animal rights and gay rights just by being myself.. more so that holding any sign or yelling any chant.
I am going to be doing some very focused posts in regards to spiritual activism as it relates to some of the largest activist driving issues: Animal Rights, Gay Rights, Gender Equality, and Spiritual Equality.
If you have thoughts, comments, or questions feel free to post them in the comments section. If you wish to email to Darrin and I to address:

You are all wonderful and beautiful souls.
Much love -- Namaste

Ok.. first things first... Introductions.

Hi there...
You're probably wondering, umm.. who is this guy, and why do I want to hear what he has to say. Well, I really do not have any straightforward answers for you. What I can offer you is blunt truth, respect, appreciation, love, and understanding in a place of non-judgment. I have been involved in professional psychic work for the past 2 years. I really love what I do. I love when I am able to be of service to others, to see them have the "Ah-Ha" moments, and to sometimes share a tear or two. I really came into my gifts early on, but due to the strict religious climate at home, and state... I sorta repressed them, much like my sexuality. As we move through life, we meet people that open doors, move mountains, and that just say a friendly work... and this shifts our entire way of being. I've been blessed with many people who have been these "life shifters"... hitting the pinball machine knobs at just the right moment to send me forward.
This is one of the biggest reasons I am so excited about this blog. Darrin and I share a common vision and dream. To see this world and those in it reach their fullest potential. To see people smile, and to lend that shoulder when needed.
I have two websites...
www.michaelbrazell.com : this site shares information about my yoga practice, my reading and reiki work, and gives a more gentle insight into who I am and the work I do.
www.deviantpsychic : is the Mike with an edge site. I am posting my personal predictions, and sharing my work with you, but with fewer filters. :-)
I also have a couple of blogs aside from this one (yes, I am a busy boy)
http://cupofhope.blogspot.com : I love affirmations, pick me ups, and just all things of a positive nature. I like to share those little moments of my day that make me smile, grin, or just all out laugh.
http://deviantpsychic.blogspot.com : The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the blunt-honest-down to earth- delivered with a smile- truth. On this blog I share a bit of my edgy humor, my sarcasm, and all those things that make me the fun loving tattooed/pierced psychic that I am. I am going to offer predictive work, spirit driven messages, and just some all round good information here.
Check all of these often, or pick and choose which ones you like.
Ok... you've had your fill of me for now I am sure.
One last thing...
You are all loved. You are all beautiful, shining, souls. Each of you is a gift to this great big world. My you smile today, tomorrow and everyday.
Till next time...
Mike

Welcome from Mike Brazell
Hello All,
Just wanted to say hi!!!
It is going to be a true pleasure working with Darrin. I can remember the first time I heard him on the John Holland show and getting a peek of us doing some work together in the future... and here we are. This really is manifesting at its very best. We are coming together so that we can share a bit of our work, out lives, and our own journey with each and everyone of you. Darrin is an amazing teacher, writer, and a true inspiration. I am looking forward to sharing this path with him, and in turn.. sharing it with each of you.
You are all wonderful, beautiful souls... shine your light bright from within, and give to those that are without.
